The Occupational section examines the leading causes of illness, injury and death in the workplace. The data explores these rates by industry (private businesses as well as local, state and federal government) and the associated costs to employers, including lost time on the job. We use the data to present a comprehensive picture that includes the nature of the injury and the part of the body affected, as well as trends and benchmarking information. Primary focus is given to the main causes of workplace injury and death: motor-vehicle crashes, fatigue and falls.
