Work Deaths by State
Work-related death rates vary substantially by state. In 2017, Alaska and North Dakota ranked highest, with rates above 10 deaths per 100,000 workers. In contrast, both New Jersey and New Hampshire achieved the lowest rates of 2017, with 1.6 deaths per 100,000 workers.
