In 2024, Alaska experienced the smallest percentage of alcohol-impaired deaths (19%), while Vermont experienced the highest (41%).
Nationally, 10% of deaths involved BAC levels of between 0.08 to 0.14 g/dL, while 21% involved BAC levels of 0.15 g/dL or higher. Looking at Alaska (the reporting area with the lowest percent of alcohol-impaired deaths), 7.1% of deaths occurred in crashes with 0.08 to 0.14 g/dL BAC levels, while 11.4% occurred at BAC levels of 0.15 g/dL or higher.
